Computational Study of Premixed Flame Propagation in Micro-Channels with Nonslip Walls: Effect of Wall Temperature

نویسندگان

چکیده

This investigation evaluates the propagation of premixed flames in narrow channels with isothermal walls. The study is based on numerical solution set fully-compressible, reacting flow equations that includes viscosity, diffusion, thermal conduction and Arrhenius chemical kinetics. Specifically, pipes one extreme open closed are considered such a flame sparked at propagates towards one. channel walls kept multiple constant temperatures range from Tw=300 K to 1200 K. impact these dynamics studied for radii (R) various expansion ratios (?), which approximate behavior different fuel mixtures system. also compared adiabatic walls, were previously found produce exponential acceleration initial stage burning process. results show heat losses prevent strong lead much slower as ones. Four distinctive regimes have been identified ??Tw?R space: (i) extinction; (ii) linear acceleration; (iii) steady or near-steady propagation; (iv) oscillations. physical processes each discussed, corresponding regime diagrams presented.

Flame Flashback and Propagation of Premixed Flames near a Wall

The flashback or propagation of premixed flames along the near-wall low-velocity region at the base of a laminar boundary layer of a reactive mixture has been studied numerically. The analysis, carried out using the constant density approximation for an Arrhenius overall reaction, accounts for the effects of the Lewis number of the fuel. The flow field, as seen by an observer moving with the fr...

Cyclic flame propagation in premixed combustion

In experiments of hot surface ignition and subsequent flame propagation, a puffing flame instability is observed in mixtures that are stagnant and premixed prior to ignition. By varying the size of the hot surface, power input, and combustion vessel volume, it was determined that the instability is a function of the interaction of the flame, with the fluid flow induced by the combustion product...

investigation of flame location effect on flame temperature in premixed counterflow combustion of particle-cloud

the premixed counterflow flames propagation in combustion of mixture which is a uniform mixture of fuel particles and air is analytically studied. this analysis framework is based on thermal-diffusion model with assumption that the lewis number is unit and the strain rate is constant. velocity profile is assumed as a function of one variable like x. the structure of the flame is presumed to con...

Stage of Quasi-steady Propagation in Premixed Flame Acceleration in Narrow Channels

The present work investigates the spontaneous acceleration of premixed flames in micro-channels in the process of deflagration-to-detonation transition. Simulations of edge-flame propagation in turbulent non-premixed jets

Ignition, flame propagation and stabilisation have been simulated and analysed in a turbulent jet of non-premixed methane and air. The first order Conditional Moment Closure (CMC) turbulent combustion model was fully coupled with a Reynolds-Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) flow simulation. A CMC model was developed to account for spark ignition. The over-prediction of turbulent flame propagation w...
